Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett announced today that the Coyotes have signed goaltender Steve Passmore to a one-year contract. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
In 2003-04, the 5-foot-9, 165-pound Passmore played 9 games with the Chicago Blackhawks posting a 2-6-0 record with a 2.89 goals against average (GAA). He also played 15 games with Norfolk (AHL), where he had a 3-10-2 record with a 2.63 GAA.
In 2002-03, Passmore appeared in 11 games for the Blackhawks, recording a 2-5-2 record with a 3.70 GAA. His best season came in 2001-02 with Chicago where he posted career highs in wins (8-5-4) and GAA with a 2.26.
The 32-year-old native of Thunder Bay, Ontario has played in 93 career NHL games with Edmonton, Chicago and Los Angeles, posting a record of 23-44-12 with a 2.79 GAA.
Passmore was originally drafted by the Quebec Nordiques in the 10th round (196th overall) of the 1992 Entry Draft
